Passage: Matthew 27:32 - 56

Bible Text: Matthew 27:32 – 56Series: Holy Week 2023 | Jesus is crucified.

Focus Verses:
35And when they [the soldiers] had crucified him, they divided his clothes among themselves by casting lots; 36then they sat down there and kept watch over him. 37Over his head they put the charge against him, which read, ‘This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.’
50Then Jesus cried again with a loud voice and breathed his last.

We encourage you to read the entire story found in the Gospel of Matthew 27:32 – 56, and think about these questions:

How does Jesus’ death speak to truth in our lives and world?
How does it give us hope?
Where do you see God still at work to redeem and preserve creation?

Prayer:  Lord God, on the cross you suffered the very depths of our human life, even to the point of death. When we see the cross, let us remember that you become one of us and endured all elements of life to show us your great love and to give us hope. Amen.
